Special services
are available at the Academy to enable students to
thrive regardless of educational background or
ability. Available services (in most grades) are
remediation, skills development, intervention, speech
pathology and counseling.
The Academy employs
a sophisticated team of interventionists and
specialists who comprise the Pupil Service Team. The
team meets weekly to plan and evaluate student
services.
In the Judaic
Studies Division, preparatory classes and tutoring are
offered for students who have a limited Judaic
background, who have transferred from other schools or
another country.
The Judaic Studies
Resource Center
is
an educational support program designed to support
students who find it challenging to function in the
classroom on an average performance level.
The Student
Enrichment Center
is
the most recent innovative addition to a host of
special services which recognize the individual
differences among students. At the Center, students
in grades 4-6 are provided with academic or
organizational support. Enrichment opportunities are
also offered for gifted students.
Ezer
B’Chumash
On
the high school level, parallel Chumash classes
provide our students with an opportunity to study and
enjoy Torah classes with a low student/teacher ratio.
The General Studies
Program
includes the services of tutors, Special Educational
Teachers, Counselors, Speech Pathologists and an
Interventionist all committed to the growth and
development of the individual child.
Our staff includes
experienced educators and professionals who hold
advanced degrees in Judaic studies and/or special
education.
The ultimate goal
of these programs is to mainstream students back to
their appropriate classroom setting with upgraded
learning skills and a reinforced body of knowledge to
function with confidence. Clearly, the individual
student is not the sole beneficiary of this project;
the entire class benefits. Every child is important!
