Students designed creative innovations that included security systems and alarms, electronic toys, a piano that can be played without touching the keys, a device to prevent a tub or sink from overflowing, a sensor that will remove steam from the bathroom, an electronic eraser, and an electronic car that senses obstacles and red lights. Throughout the year the students learned many skills that they employed for designing these projects. The skills included computer coding, electrical wiring and soldering of the wires. In addition the girls had to use business skills that included using a budget to get materials for their project, designing an ad campaign, and working together as a group. The girls designed their machines and demonstrated them at the Engineering Fair. Their demonstrations included imaginative power point advertising campaigns and attention-grabbing display boards.
